Attack of the MAGA clones
In which two right-wing X influencers are continually reposted by fake accounts impersonating them
In an interesting twist on social media inauthenticity, an unknown entity has set up a group of accounts that simultaneously impersonate and amplify a pair of prominent right-wing X users. For the last several weeks, seven accounts masquerading as Juanita Broaddrick (@atensnut) and five imitating Alex Bruesewitz (@alexbruesewitz) have regularly reposted the real Broaddrick and Bruesewitz’s posts. These twelve spam accounts, along with their permanent numeric IDs, are:
@aIexbruesewitz (permanent ID 1684379354)
@alexbruesewitzp (permanent ID 1865629099)
@alexbruesewnew (permanent ID 1873289953687334912)
@alexbruesswitz (permanent ID 471445011)
@alexbruesswitz1 (permanent ID 498387279)
@BroaJuanit63648 (permanent ID 1891381081783312384)
@JuanitaBoarddri (permanent ID 1910870912154394625)
@atensmut (permanent ID 123156210)
@atensnut_1_ (permanent ID 1910812879940415488)
@atensnut_9 (permanent ID 2148184767)
@atensnut___1 (permanent ID 1910828850017185792)
@attensnutt (permanent ID 1908818994091393025)

Since the beginning of April 2025, and possibly earlier, almost every single X post from Juanita Broaddrick and Alex Bruesewitz’s official accounts has been belatedly reposted by at least one, and usually multiple, accounts impersonating the original poster. The accounts impersonating Broaddrick also sometimes repost Bruesewitz. Although this astroturfy amplification is a drop on the bucket on the two influencers’ more viral posts, it noticeably inflates the numbers on their less popular content. The fake accounts also repost posts from other users that were reposted by Broaddrick or Bruesewitz here and there.
The two accounts most frequently reposted by the fake accounts are, unsurprisingly, Juanita Broaddrick and Alex Bruesewitz. Due to her substantially higher overall posting volume, Broaddrick has been reposted significantly more often than Bruesewitz. The remaining accounts reposted are mostly a mix of journalists, right-wing influencers, and political accounts. The reposts from the fake accounts are occasionally immediate, but more often delayed by at least a few hours.
In addition to the multitude of reposts, a few of the fake accounts also post duplicates of Broaddrick’s and Bruesewitz’s posts from time to time. These copies are sometimes incomplete, as seen in the middle post in the collage above, where the duplicate omits the final sentence. As with the reposts, the duplicates are often posted significantly after the post being plagiarized.
The impersonation accounts are a mix of recent creations and extremely old accounts, with five accounts created in 2025, one in 2024, and the remaining six created in 2013 or earlier. At least three of the older accounts have been renamed and repurposed; @alexbruesswitz was once named @Mortensenrobert, @alexbruesswitz1 was previously @JessieMac17, and @atensmut was named @vuivecuoi as recently as March 2025. These name changes were accompanied by deletions of older content, suggesting that these accounts were hijacked, sold, or both.
